What colour should I paint my hallway?

Question:It is a flat I live in and my hall has no windows so the only light it gets is if a door to another room is opened. I have a red carpet down and would like to know some ideas for colours to help brighten it up a bit. Any other ideas would be great too.

Answers:
If your carpet is in good condition and you are happy with it, I would also go with the cream color on the walls. This will not only lighten the space but it will play off of the red carpet. The only issue would be that as light hits it from certain angles the walls may look pink due to the red carpet. You already have a bold color statement in your hallway with the red carpet, I would not go too dramatic with the color on the walls. You may also want to try placing a mirror in the hallway to retract more light. Good Luck!

CREAM COLOUR WILL BE PERFECT FOR THIS SITUATION.
Lemon yellow ~~
Firstly, if it's that dark, I'de use gloss paint, and any pastel shade to go with red. How about a minty green?
Light sky blue.
It will give you expression ,
that you are flying.
get rid of that hideous carpet and put down some wood or bamboo floors. then paint your walls egg shell white.
Off white.
I agree with the yellow..perhaps a soft buttery yellow.
