Kitchen/Bathroom counter tops?

Question:Granite? Marble? Stone? What is the best surface to purchase when putting in new countertops? Both kitchen and bath? I am so confused about the conflicting information that I read. HELP!

Answers:
I think a lot of it has to do with the look and feel of the space.

I love granite for the kitchen. It's beautiful, easy to take care of, you can set your hot pans directly on the counter and not burn it, you can roll dough directly on the counter. I just love it and i wouldn't change for the world.

For the bathrooms, i prefer stone over marble. Somehow, marble doesn't appeal to me and I think stone brings a certain warmth to a bathroom. I don't think marble does that.

Personally, I love the Corian product line!

I saw a concrete counter which was beautiful! The best part is that you can have ANY color/hue that you want to match whatever!!!
I know it sounds strange, but do a search on it.
Concrete is Sweet!! you will be limited by your imagination!
anything can be done with it!
