Darkening window treatments?
Question:My boyfriend and i like to have our bedroom dark when we sleep, because we work odd hours, so we have them covered up by thick blankets, i was wondering since i love natural lighting, and i like to take them down, if anyone has a solution for darkening window treatments? My friend suggested getting them tinted, but then there goes the natural light...So does anyone know of shades or drapes or curtains that have the darkening effect?

Try HunterDouglas room darkening shades, link below. There are cheaper rip-off's available too.
Basically, these are honeycomb shades that look normal on the front but have an opaque liner on the back side.
I have them in my bedroom.
They have darkening roller shades available at Walmart.

If I were you, I'd hit up Target or TJ Maxx & buy new, dark & thicker window treatments. You could dye the ones that you have or add a liner to make them thicker, but that just seems like too much work.
