How do I remove the top sash of a anderson double pane window. The Inner glass is broken. Thanks?

Question:I need to remove it so I can take it in to have it fixed. It has thin cords and a spring..no weights.

Answers:
Generally, the Andersen Narroline windows can't be reglazed, or have just the glass replaced. You will need to find a local Andersen dealer and order a new top sash.

To measure, on the inside of the window, measure the part of the glass that you can see. Don't try to guess how much glass is inside the frame, they work off of "visible glass" size.

You will also need the date code, as there have been some minor changes over the last few years, and the type of glass. All of this information is coded around the AW logo in the corner of the glass. Copy the information around the logo, the dealer can figure this out as well.

Worst part is removing the jamb liner. They tend to get brittle over the years, so be careful.
