go to the paint store, they usually have brochers surrounding the paint filed with fun ideas.
Pick your design and get it transferred to transperancy, use an old transperancy projector to trace it on the wall, then Paint accordingly.
use a really vibrant or strong color and then rag over it with a lighter version of that color. This will give the wall texture.

hey, I think all the answers r good ones. Look in paint magazines/books/brochues/ ask at paint stores.. fauxing is fun & easy. And DON'T b scared... if it doesn't work out...it's ONLY paint. U can paint OVER it. Have fun!
Like a picture? Buy a canvas, paint it how ever you want, and frame it.
