Can masonry paint be painted over hammerite?

Question:any takers? and if not - why not? / if so why so?

thanks all

Answers:
i can't recall having done it, but i would think it would be ok.
if there is any existing rusty areas, it will bleed through if using a water based paint (though some do have excellent oppacity), you'd be fine with an oil based masonary paint though!

yes but wont last long as hammer is oil based and mason is water.
