How exciting!! You have an open palette before you. Maroons, blues, oranges, yellows. Do you have alot of windows for natural sunlite? Are your walls painted? You first have to figure out what your style is. What mood are you wanting to set too? Colors don't have to match anymore however they should coordinate, and textures are something else to take into consideration. Best of luck.

If I were you, I would do like a beige color, because that would match up with the couches. Hope That Helps!
black, white, if you want to splash some color try a deep red
I agree with matching the curtain colour closely to the colour of the couch and then introduce your colour in the smaller accents like your pillows and your art work, since it is hard for you to find colours you like this is less of a commitment and in the long run allows you to easily change the look of your room at anytime by simply changing the pillows adding a throw or a rug.
some colours you may look at for pillows are brown, black, red, teal, pale blue, eggplant...you have so many options by keeping the rest of the room neutral.
black would be great--and you can get curtains that have black and grey--that would look rich
Maroon (Red) or yellow would look great as an accent color.
