Whats a good colour scheme for a bedroom ?
Question:wanting a change but dont know what colour to paint the walls and stuff, any ideas ?
Answers:
It depends on the size of the room. Light colours help to make a room bigger, dark colours-smaller. Neutrals and wood look good with any colour. Contrasting colours look good together, (blue-orange, yellow-purple, red-green). If you find a colour you like, say blue, you can add a bit of white to do one wall, (same shade but lighter intensity-compliments well, can highlight or create a focus wall (like a faux head board), and is a good way to stretch the paint $). Pastels are calming, yellow-based colours are warm, blue-based colours are refreshing (and look best against 80% of skin tones).
Try picking a colour from your bed spread or accent pillows, or other accents in the room. Even a favorite, flattering shirt. You can take it with you and get a colour match for your paint.
Have fun!
Brown and Cream.
a romantic colour, light pink almost white
or light red
cold colour blue
neutral green or cream ( a bit boring though )
or why not go for a mad one like multicolours
and then finish with stickers on the windows.. butterflies look great!
Best thing to use in your home is colors you use in your clothes.
I love sage green walls, bedding, white woodwork, and light turquoise pillows , and very few accessories, since a bedroom can get so cluttered so fast.
When I was single, I had a reddish pink bedroom, with a big poster of a "romance novel" over the bed- all romantic, and plush. Lace, etc.
What is it now?
lavender or lilac..very relaxing
Greens are good for bedrooms as the colour is meant to put you in the mood.
Lilac is for sexless people...apparently.My bedroom is Treacle tart and chocolate mousse, with cream bedding... i based it on my fav desserts..lol.

The most restful colour is grey.Grey, black and white would be ineresting
earth tones, keep it soft and quiet restful
lime green and brown pretty funky
white / cream walls with red and white bedding etc. always nice and passionate
deffinately red its passionate and cosy just like me ;0) or cream and brown if your a more neutral person that allways looks calming and relaxing :) it depends on the person really but personally i love my red bedroom with my solid wood furniture its sumptuous good question ! ill blow you a kiss and give you a star mwah x
Lavender and lilacs are nice but any of these bluish colours tend to feel cool.
My favourites are browns and creams.
A really light green on one wall and a darker green on the next. This will give the room character.
Browns, Oranges and Creams
You don't mention any colors you are considering; neutral colors are relaxing and smoothing, off white, light tan, beige, egg shell white and cream, there are many colors of white to blend in with...would help to know color now as lighter colors take more paint to cover darker colors.
crimson.
Neutral relaxing colours like browns, creams etc Having said that, we have antique white and a very intense red (it's on the wall where the headboard of the bed is though so the room is still relaxing.
all earth tones are relaxing but nothing too colourful as it wont help sleep. light colours are bright and airy so have fun.
BLUE. nice colour. My girlfriend says colour blue is too cool for a bedroom. I tell her it makes you want to snuggle up more. She`s not convinced!! try some paint tester pots before you make any firm decisions, just to be on the safe side
tartan
First thing to consider is what direction the bedroom faces...do you get the morning light? or not at all? then remember that the 'cool' colors, blues, grays, etc..are psychologically 'cold' in a bedroom...unless you get direct sunlight in the morning.what color is your carpet? you could use a variation of that color, or look at a color wheel to see what other colors would complement it...
