How can I spruce up my hardwood floors?

Question:I am moving in with a couple friends and my bedroom has some ugly hardwood floors. I'm not going to put in new ones or cover them with carpet. (I'll probably use an area rug, but I want to do what I can for the wood)

Answers:
I used the Orange Glo system and it works great!! It comes with a cleaner, a wax and an applicator with pads.

Use a good cleaner for wood floors. Get a good cleaning brush and scrub the floors one section at a time. use a nice wood floor wax after. It does take time, but is really worth the work. Orange-Glo works good...
You can use a hardwood wax, that will give it a slight shine, that might help.
If its an old old floor and someone tried to re stain it...it no doubt looks yuk.
yet, by the time you get your bed in and all your stuff.there won't be that much of the floor showing ...maybe?
If you do any of the fancy cures for hardwood, like stripping it and re staining it etc. use min wax its easy...but be sure to wear knee pads ... my knees still hurt and its been a year since I re did my floors...but then I am old.
Good luck with this, hardwood floors are really neat...they take as much care as any other flooring.
Try the As Seen On TV Billy Maze stuff (the oxy clean guy) His floor cleaner works really well.
