Answers:
Look into Finish carpentry. You'll love it.

You have to really want to become a carpenter and not just because of the money. It is a very good trade to get into esp. if you enjoy working with wood. There are different kinds of capentry - construction, finish, cabinet making, furniture making, etc. It would be a good career for me, but no one but you can answer for you. To find out more, you need to call or visit your local trade or vocational school.
Sure, to be a good rough carpenter you would need at least 1-2 yrs. in the field. You could make up to $25 an hr. Finish carpenters need 1-2 yrs exp. also, the pay in a little less maybe $20 an hour.

If you can learn the whole building trade from foundations to roof it opens up doors in all trades and makes you very valuable
Try going to your local carpenters union, if you can get into the apprenticeship program it will take 5 years to become a journeyman but the pay is good and a female has a good chance of getting in.
