Brush strokes/emulsion.?

Question:Using a high quality synthetic brush & matt finish reasonable quality emulsion paint I proceeded to paint my kitchen walls {plaster}. Finished a wall, the first half has virtually no brush stroke lines but the second has! I am `cross banding` and `layering off`. Is this due to applying to much paint or not enough? Aldvice much appreciated.

Answers:
Usually too much paint and your brush will hold more and more paint as you go on.....my advice would be a roller for a nice even finish.

dont know
What's the temperture of the roon, sounds like the paint had started to dry on the brush in places and therefore creating a harsher brush.
Dont be afraid of the paint but you dont want it dripping either.good luck
Has the whole wall dried? Sometimes the brush strokes disappear as the paint dries. If there are still brush strokes and they are really annoying you, try another coat using a roller instead of a brush.
to get no brush marks at all you need a really good brush (purdy) and water the paint down a bit that will help dont have the room too hot or too breasy you will have to wash brush out quite regular and spin in your hand to get it dry
use a roller
