How much grout spacing between bathroom floor tiles?

Question:I have 11 5/8" tiles. Should I go with 1/4" space? More? Less? I realize personal taste might come into play, but is there a general rule of thumb on grout space? Does less or more space look more modern, traditional, etc...? Are there any other considerations like cleaning or durability, or.?

Thanks!

Answers:
Yes, of course spacers do exist. But as you know, they exist in many sizes. I use a 1/4" grout line most of the time. Larger lines do look more old-fashioned. Smaller lines are harder to work with. For your application, 1/4" is perfect.

I believe they have little plastic grout spacers, but for the floor, there is usually more space than a counter top. I would go with the quarter inch space. I think anymore or less would be to much, but you said it yourself about the personal taste. You should lay them out and decide for yourself. You could even mix up the spacing which would give it a real unique look, you just have to find a nice pattern for the spacing
There are little spacers that come with the tile sometime use those and when you are happy with it that the one
there are little spacers you can get and lay on the tile when you lay it out in the mastic. when you are done pull them out and you will have perfect grout lines to work with.

You buy them in Baggies at Home Depot(the tile shop etc.) or someplace like that.
