Why would people want new shingles on roof?
Question:in my neighborhood i see shingles being tore and replaced by news ones even thought the old ones look pretty good.

SHINGLES GET OLD AND LIKE ANYTHING ELSE WEAR OUT.THEY MAY LOOK OK BUT THEY MAY ALSO NOT DOING THE JOB THAT THEY WERE MADE FOR.KEEPING THE OUTSIDE OUT! NORMALY REPLACEMENT OF SHINGLES OCCURS EVERY 10-20 YEARS SOME GO LONGER...ALSO, STYLES AND COLORS MAY BE WANTED AS WELL..
The shingles may look OK but they may be leaking inside. Sometimes shingles get torn or lifted from high winds and leave weak spots in the roofing. Another reason is if they are going to lighter colors because of heat build up under them from the sun. Or, maybe they just want another color roof.
Well they have to be replace every once in a while they do rot, and wind or hail damage. Or maybe they are tyring to keep up with the Joneses LOL
