Aluminium conservatory?

Question:Does anyone have one of these and are they actually any good and where did you buy it from? I have seen a couple of these on ebay and they look ok.. I would love a conservatory but dont want to spend too much so as have seen these on ebay would be interested in finding out more.. It would only be to keep the kids toys etc in..

Also does anyone know of any websites or where to buy these from apart from ebay!? I have been searching but cant find anywhere

Thanks in advance

We had a half brick and double glazed window conservatory built by a professional firm. It is a beauty. The roof was made of polycarbonate. It was baking in summer and freezing in winter we had no radiators fitted which we should have done and I feel now we should have had a proper roof fitted, an aluminium conservatory would be even worse. I think you would be well advised to think very hard about how you would use the extra space.

If its just to store things in and occasionally sit in during the year you could live with it. But if you wanted it as an extra living space permanantly and money is tight, have a proper ceiling put in to stop the stifling heat in summer [even with windows and patio door and ceiling fan] and have radiators fitted for the winter. Otherwise you might just as well be sitting in your garden!

Also the position of the sun on that part of your house will also play an important part. Hope this helps somewhat.!

Sorry don't own one myself, but generally, if it's not double glazed steer well clear as it will suffer from condensation in the winter. Newish (last 10 Years) double glazed products tend to be better and can be good if well maintained. Take care before you buy.
