Room ideas for a teen girl?
Question:Right now I have white walls covered with band posters so you can barely see the walls underneath. My carpet is medium-light blue. My parents said I can paint and get new bedding & curtains. But if you have good ideas that go outside these guidelines, feel free to tell me anyway, I'm not on a budget as of right now.
Stay away from pink and purple with your ideas, I'm more of a punk-skater kind of girl. My life revolves around rock music, and I'm into guitar and bass. I like black, red, grey, and navy blue, but I also like bright colors like lime green and orange.
I also might get a new bed and funiture, but only if it fits into a theme somehow. Basically right now I'm just looking for any ideas to redo my room, no matter how crazy and creative. thanks in advance =]

I have a great idea. I'm shay and I work as an interior designer and here is my idea. I was searching for bedroom ideas too and i found this: go to

It is a rockstar bedding set that I think you might like. if you get the bedroom set, i would paint the wall a bright blue to match. A blue, red, or black lov sac bean bag chair would work great in the room. I'd keep the band posters or maybe go to the store and buy a bunch of new ones. Hopefully this was of some use. Once agian I am shay and i am 19 years old.

Paint your room grey (base color) then tape off sections to make thick red stripes- when this dries do very thin lime green , black and orange stripes (from top to bottom) where the grey and red meet- depending on how you like the combinations of colors you can vary that but I think grey or a medium, cadet blue would be a good base color.
CD art is good for the walls, try this for ideas :

get a few old skateboards and cut them in half longways and attach them to your walls with brackets to make display shelves- you could use the whole skateboard- try here for the idea- this one is on a kiddie oriented site and makes a whole shelf system rather than one shelf, but you can get the idea and moderate it for oyur needs and taste :

If you use gray or a similar color for your walls, get sheets and bedding that are orange, red, lime green, etc- colors that will contrast.
Here is some artwork that might go along with it- it is a little spendy, but if you are brave or know someone that is a decent artist- you might use one of these designs as inspiration for a poster or piece of artwork to go in your room:

There is one on that page that says "sleep eat , skate" I would do a 3D reproduction of that- get a piece of corrugated tin - cut it to the right size for putting on your wall- then get some cardstock in the colors you like- make sure to keep the size of your letters and squares prportionate to the size of the tin so everything will fit on the finished product- you dont have to use that phrase- put your name or whatever phrase you like
on the second page of that :

there is a piece called "acidic skater art plaque- the one with the green background is pretty cool and good inspiration for painting your walls if you dont like the stripes idea. Paint your base color green or gray and splatter your contrasting colors- put a little paint on a dry , stiff bristled toothbrush and flick it at the walls to get the splatter/ speckle effect without dripiness- wear rubber gloves and goggles, protect your clothing and flooring before attempting this paint method.
