If they are 8 and 12, you should do a sophisticated color. A sophisticated color like a light blue would be nice. Some schemes for your bathroom could be "blue ocean". That's the scheme of my bathroom. We have a blue toilet seat cozy, blue toilet hugger, (rug that wraps around the toilet) , a long thin storage cabinet with shells placed on top of it, blue towels, and paintings on the wall of the ocean. If blue isn't what you're going for, read further.
Flower Lavender- A flower theme. (Ex. flowers painted on the bottom of the walls, lavender walls, floral shower curtain etc.)
Dark Blue Solar System- A night-time theme. (Ex. Stars painted on the ceiling, stick-on, glow in the dark stars to go on the ceiling, planets painted on the walls, dark blue shower curtain, etc.)
Make-up Light Pink- Makeup theme. (Ex. Words like "Glamorous", "Gorgeous", or "Fabulous" above the mirror, light pink shower curtain, toilet seat cozy, rug, and paint, sparkly window curtains, etc.)
Have them pick a theme they like and pick colors out of that theme. Ex. zoo- greens, blues, tans, ect.
i personaly would use pink or a bright orange color
i can't wait to do the 'girl's room' in my new house. it's going to be pink and orange. a mauvy kind of pink and an orange that is just a bit brown. Hawaiian hibiscus print!
very light green and white trim
very light tan and white trim
super light peach with white trim
pale light blue w/ white trim
you can change accesories 10001 times and give the bathroom a new look w/out repainting if you choose nutral colors.
keep it simple and something you can stand to look at
no pinks
no purples
yellow, or a light blue, maybe even a green. my bathroom is yellow, green, and white. my friends is a redish color, with a gold color that looks like someone took a sponge and dabbed it. try one of those. good luck!
That is a tough call. i would do like yellow's or pinks and purples. i would do some thing simple and classic for the wall colors and do some thing fun for the rugs and stuff . those are easy to change.
If you are painting I would go with something neutral and accessorize with a color they like.for the towels and little bath soaps that way you can keep the expense down.
You might want to pick bright pinks and greens (like seafoam and teal), Do a variety of colors, and let both girls pick out their own towels in those colors. For a bath mat, one of those pink flower rugs would work well.
By sticking to a color theme, you can change the idea of the bathroom by switching only one color, or the rug on the floor, soap dish, etc.
well, just do what their favorite color is. maybe do like seashells or palm trees
