Answers:
Girl, i have the same problem. I do it all the time, I say I am goign to do it and i never do. Then i end up doing it and after your finished it feels GREAT. i love the feeling of a clean room, it is also awsome because it releases endorphins, which make you happy! Good Luck! I hope I helped
When you first come into your room at the end of the day, take a big wiff. That is the smell of a dirty room, clean it, it stinks, lol.
Do it! i believe in you! And if you clean it ill give you a dollar bill!
Just go do it-----NOW!
Just do it. Grab ur ipod and see how many things you can clean up b4 the song is over.
listen to music or watch T.V while your cleaning your room
i usually put some music on and then sit there on my bed for a bit and slowly clean. put everything in piles, try to throw a bunch of junk away, then once i can see my floor i swiffer sweep it and sweefer mop it.
once you have cleaned your room you will feel so much better... there won't be any confusion anymore. and you might find things you forgot you had. look at as an adventure. to see what you can find. or to see how quick you can get it done.
Draw an imaginary line from wall to wall in each direction, dividing the room into quarters. Clean just one quarter, then you can stop. When you finish the quarter, look at how nice it looks compared to the rest of the room. You might want to just clean another quarter. Next thing you know, it's done.
This always helped me because cleaning the whole room seemed overwhelming, but one quarter was do-able.
put on your "most favorite cd" and crank it up!! gets me moving(esp. to clean) everytime!!
I have this problem too, so I put on some "motivational" music (loud rock and roll) and get to it. Makes the time pass quicker. I promise myself a reward for after it's done - have a coffee, watch a movie, read a book, do a pedicure, etc.
If all else fails, I give myself one hour to do as much as possible and then I can quit. The trick is that by the end of an hour, you're usually either finished, or you're on a roll and you want to get it finished. You just have to fake yourself out.
The best thing to do is to invite a friend to stay with you. Obviously you would not want them to see the state of the room and this will get you motivated. It works for me.
Get a job, and pay someone else to clean it, or do like Laura Bush and hire an illegal immigrant and pay them with your tax dollars.
That's because cleaning is BORING!! What I do to motivate myself is I have to buy something new for the room. Then I feel inspired to clean. (I have 4 kids and they are messy - so this helps with their rooms too). I might buy some new storage tubs in bright colors for their rooms, or I recently bought myself some beautiful chocolate colored wicker baskets . Or some new bed quilt, or pillows, or painting - then you want it to look nice to put your new item in the room - it really helps! In my family/living area I bought a new cupboard / long seat to go under the window. All the toys are thrown into the cupboard part and we can sit on the top to read stories. It really helps to have lots of storage to help keep things clean. If it looks nice - it makes you more inspired to want to have it clean.
Invite someone over.
I had a hard time, too, when I was young. I think you should buy some plastic bins and assorted tubs and boxes. You can even get cardboard ones and spraypaint them some colors to match your room (let them dry thoroughly so you don't suck down fumes). Then start organizing. My biggest messes come from not being organized enough. When I make a place for everything ...viola! All clean. Also, once you put everything AWAY make a rule that you put things back. Then follow your rules. You must have self-discipline.
