Any Suggestions for a rainforest room?
Question:I am turning my bedroom into a rainforest themed room. I just don't know what to do about paint! I am going for a VERY realistic look. I have been looking at wall murals but they all cost so much!! I want something for the floor, the ceiling, and the walls that doesnt cost so much. Any suggestions? Thank you!

my sister's room has a rainforest theme. What we did to liven it up was we took a large fish net and wove fake flowers into the net. We also hung those little styrofoam and feather birds from the ceiling. Depending on how specific you want it to look, you could also hang up native masks because the amazon rainforest has tons of tribes. As for paint, a fun thing to do is pick 2 colors (maybe green and brown) and paint the walls one color and then take a plastic bag (like one from safeway) and scrunch it up, dip it into the 2nd color of paint, and sponge it onto the wall. it will give a bushy, planty kind of a look. Good luck!
Put astro-turf on the floor. Staple palm leaves to the walls.
Put fire sprinklers in your ceiling that have a switch, then you can make it rain! That is realistic!
buy the paint and do it yourself. If you don't have artistic talent, go to your local craft store and they will have stencils and wall stamps you can use. Wall Mural made easy!
I just answered a question for a camper theme; the same thing would work for your room; Paint some big, big leaves on the walls. or print some out on your computer and stick them up with tape. or buy some fake leaves and flowers. Paint the ceiling blue and dab on some white clouds with a sponge. I did my garden room like that. Put some grass carpeting on the floor, (the kind you buy for outside)
Big Orange Vietnamese Opium poppies!
Use fallen branches as accents. I have a daughter who is very into monkeys, and I made her a monkey perch across one wall using a nicely shaped branch and attaching felt leaves and winding it with green ribbon "vine"...it looks cool and gives her whole room a fun tropical feel.and it cost less than $5 for all the materials and took about an hour to do!

well you could probably use light green on the walls if you have wood floors better if not buy a tiger print rug. The bed covers may be light or dark brown. for blinds you may use bamboo. If you could? put a small fountain in there that would be good.
