I use essential oil in my home. You can get an oil burner at Bath & Body works, or any place that sells essential oils. All you do is pour a few drops of the oil into the basin, light the candle that's set up underneath, and voila! The scent flows all through the house! It's just as fragrant as air freshener, but not as offensive to the nostrils and lasts a long time because it's not a spray or anything. Try a scent like "moonlit path" from bath and body. It's really relaxing, and smells gorgeous. It's perfect for bigger houses because instead of plugging it in, spraying, or setting a little airfreshener up somewhere, this uses steam from the hot oil to let the scent drift all through the house. Plus, since it uses tea candles to power itself, you won't need an outlet, and it looks really pretty. Good luck, I hope this helps!!
Sometimes its not the scents that fade out, its your nose gets used to them!
I like Bath and Body's wallflowers. Basically heated oil, but the scents are strong. You can layer the fragrances using the same smell in different products such as candles and room sprays.
Happy smelling!
I have cathedral ceilings too and i had my husband build me a few tasteful shelves closer to the ceiings. I have them in all four corners where i keep scented candles and a couple on my tables and the scents are so wonderful.I usually put blackcherry candles up and on my tables i have blueberry scented candles and my kitchen of course has apple spice and vannila...big house..lol
I use home interior candles they really work. The scent its really strong and one candle lastest about 2 months.
Try getting some scented oil and putting a few drops into a spray bottle along with water. Mix up and spray around your room.----Inexpensive and the smell stays. I work in a day care and that is what I do to cover up the little's special "smells".
Sometimes you just get adjusted to the smell but if you put some scents around the vents in your house, it will make the smell spread throughout.
