light tan or beige color.
Why would you want gold carpet??
Is it a pimp palace? Why in the world do you have gold carpet?
red would be ideal or purple
What kinda gold?

Depends on what else is in the room, too.
Deep dark red. It would be sexy!
tan
gag get rid of the carpet than you can use your favorite color
May be rust color or cameo.
An off white, like parchment type color.

A pretty light green.

Oranges, pinks, reds, maybe mixed or feathered or sponged.
There is several shades of white...antique white, eggshell white..or if you don't want that light of walls you may look at shades of lighter beige but would be careful on those...would have to be certain not to really clash with the gold.
Run by Lowe's and pick up all the small samples you may like and take them and lay them on the carpet and see what they would look like against your carpet. Good luck
It depends on you..If you want a nature color scheme...it could be browns and greens and oranges.like think of the desert...all the colors that are there!...Or if you want a rich elegant scheme..Burgundy's and royal blues...or even Purples.. gold can be treated like a neutral and almost any color would compliment it....What's your style??
gold..depends how big the room is, if its small then aviod dark colours but me tinx a warm light biscuit/cream or simular colour walls with brown sofa, gold and cream cushions, shaggy rug to match colour of cushions, a couple of house plants..keep it soft but i think white might be too harsh with the gold..but get a colour chat from da diy stores if you dunt a like what i have to say.. but dont forget to add a prominant colour so it doesnt look dull and puky. hav fun
1] ivory or white
2] pale gold, or light yellow
3] if you already have furniture, choose a color already in it or lighter version of same; and treat rug as a neutral
Example: you have a medium blue, light blue, and green print sofa.
Paint walls light blue or light green, add 2 green or medium blue chairs, and drapes in the medium blue or medium green.
light brown or pale green
