Does anyone know where I can get commercial flooring like the tiles that are on the floors at grocery stores,?
Question:hospitals, ect? Thanks!
Answers:
home depot or Lowe's has them
Check Menards. I had to replace some in my restaurant and got them there.
I would check with a local flooring distributor. I assume that you are talking about the 1 x 1 foot vinyl tiles that you glue to the floor. Any of the big box stores should have them though.
Home Depot or Lowe's has a limited selection of VCT(vinyl compostion tiles) They are 12" x 12" and come 45 square feet to a box. They should also have the Armstrong 515 adhesive. If they don't have the color you're looking for, a local floorcovering store will have access to more brands.
Armstrong and Mannington both make a nice product that is truly square, and not quite so institutional looking. Azrock, Tarkett, and Congoleum make a good product, put not as many colors or as nice looking.
VCT Tiles---they come in solid colors and a few "designs" --kind of like the splatter painted style that reminds you of grade school cafeterias!
We got ours at a locally owned flooring store. Just look up 'flooring' in the yellow pages!
(P.S. One thing I learned when getting our VCT flooring installed (in a restaurant) is what "cove base" is. The sales guys kept using that term assuming everyone in the world knows what that is! I finally had to ask, and it's almost like the rubbery equivalent to wooden trim at the base of a wall, where the wall and floor meet. It's usually about 4 or 6" high and is glued on with a special kind of glue. I think it's generally used with VCT tiles. )
