Making my bedroom look larger?
Question:What are some tips on making my 12x12 room look larger? That's a fairly decent size but I have 1 big dresser catti-cornered then a full sized bed a TV stand and of course a TV on it and a vanity desk. Still dose look pretty big but I want the middle too look larger... or what are some ways I can rearange my room to make it look bigger. I'm not allowed to get rid of anything so keep that in mind. Thanks SOOO Much In advance!

Try not to have too many things clattered in the corner or anything. Try to keep your bedroom as tidy as possible. And your aim is to get everything more spaced out so space everything out as much as possible. And also [if you allowed] you could try to move things around. Like try to see if your bed or whatever will fit somewhere else which will create more room. [use a tape measure if possible] and try not to have to many pictures/posters up on your wall. Also try to put more mirrors in your room. That will create and more open and spacious image of you room. Try to let more light shine through your window/windows. And use bright colours. That should help. And good luck! xX ;)
Try spacing things out more. Also add more mirrors. Mirrors give the illusion of a bigger room.
I know that mirrors can help a room appear larger. Got a large mirror you can hang?
get rid of lots of things
3 light walls
1 darker wall
i've just painted mine like this with brown and cream
hope it works also look at lighting
Try painting your walls white. The color white will make it appear larger.
use light colors, like white. darker colors make ur room look smaller.
Get some cute mirrors 4 ur room
paint your walls with specific colors. i dont wanna tell yo uthe wrong ones, but go to a home depot, they should help
u can take ur tv stand out get a tv thing that u put in the wall and jsut put a tv in the thing on the wall also u can buy a smaller dresser and i dont know
Try having the walls white. My room is small but when i papered it white it look 10 times bigger!!
That and try doing something like putting some cusions on your bed to make it look like somewhere to sit instead of lie... it just add chacter to the room making it look like a place to live and not just somewhere to sleep.
Last suggestion! Angle things in corners... instead of puttin things in corners so they like fit in... angle them round so they go accross the corner.
Is your closet big? In high school a lot of my friends would put their dressers in the closet to make more space in their bedroom. Plus then if the drawers are to full to close or whatever, no big deal, just shut the closet door!
Another friend swore that her room looked bigger because she had the bed pushed against the wall making more space in the middle.
Good Luck!
mirrors help. Bright colors. Open up the curtains, let natural light shine in and don't use a lot of dark colors.
if you put a big square rug in the middle it can sort of open up the room. also get light colored curtains, and light colored walls. if you have pictures in the room make sure they are "long" vertical wise.
that will help.
Well with the dresser, put it in a corner so there is more room.
Make your room look really nice and trust me it will look bigger.
you can try cutting little pieces of paper sized down from the furniture in your room and can arrange them on a 'model' paper room to see how they fit ;) (ex: if your tv stand is 50x50x50 cm, cut a paper sized 5x5cm) lighting is also very important for a room to look bigger.
Maybe you can try painting the walls and your furnitures in white or in light colors... like pale blue or cream or beige. Some people also put huge mirrors on one side of the wall. Maybe you can put your bed on one side of the room. Place a small carpet or rug or maybe even a small bean bag beside the bed. Minimize clutter. Keep your vanity table clean and neat. Place all personal stuff like perfumes, etc. on one side or hide them in a pretty box/basket. If you need to add anything like furnitures or decorations, get them in mini sizes and in colors that would compliment the room. You can also try wall mounting your tv and use the tv stand as a bookshelf instead. You can replace it with an orchid plant/fern or picture frames. You can put your other stuff there so they won't be cluttered in the room.
Don't forget to have fun experimenting!
paint your walls white and add a big mirror that should help.:)
