Painting my bathroom with a red satin finish, but 1st coat left STREAKS! Help!?

Question:I don't know if it's a big deal for the first coat to leave streaks, but it's pretty ugly. I had to menuever around the light fixture, towel rod, and t.p. holder. Some of the paint in thin in places and it's streaky all over. It was expensive paint and I used a 3/8 nap roller. If I go over it tomorrow with a better roller and take down the rod and holder that are mounted, do you think it will cover up the steaks? I am scared that I ruinied the paint job!

Answers:
red is a tricky color to use... my bathroom was a mess til the 4th coat!

when we painted a wall in my son's room, we used primer tinted same color as paint... and only had to do a couple coats that time, worked MUCH better!

be careful no to go over what you have painted while it is still wet... it will lift off the paint rather than apply more...

red takes multiple coats. Our burgandy bedroom took 3 or 4, my friend's red kitchen took 7 coats. the streaks will go away with additional coats.
You may need to use two or even three coats. I used red for a study, and it looked great, but it did need several coats.
That kind of color will take a few coats to turn out looking the way you want. Usually a tinted primer is used first and then several coats of paint. Just be patient and it'll turn out fine.
I am not a painter.but you may want to sand down the paint when it dries to remove the streaks or runs. Then reapply a second thinner coat after the walls have been dusted down
Streaks are prefectly normal; especially with red paint. Don't worry. Once you give it at least one more coat it will look completely different, and fabulous!
Yes, as already stated, you are going to need about 4 coats.
Did you use primer first? Anyways, once it COMPLETELY dries, you should look at it if it still has a lot of marks it could be because of one of two reasons, either you used too much paint or you went over the same area again and again. If once that the paint is dry you can still see those marks, then yeah they will still be visible even after you go over them again. You will be able to hide them a little bit better if you paint it again tomorrow, but they will still be visible (but not as much). I don't think you mess it up but if you don't like it for whatever reason, just paint it over with primer and then try again.

Best of Lucks!
For future reference, use a gray primer, not white.
