We have a huge basement that is almost finished, but the tile floor is old and bad. Could we carpet it?

Question:

Answers:
Yes, its possible. If the tile is VCT or vinyl tiles, there's no problem at all, I've done it many times. If the tile is ceramic or any kind of stone tile it will be more difficult. Tack strip can't be nailed into tiles very well, so it would be best to fill the grout lines with embossing leveler and then glue down the carpet.

To be completely honest with you I do that kind of stuff for a living, and I would remove all the old tile first before doing anything else to prevent things like mold and stuff from growing under your carpet!
