Design Ideas for a Bedroom...?

Question:I'm about to turn 19 and I feel like my room is still kinda childish. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I can design a more mature room (but not something that my parents or grandma would want for their room) that has a very tranquil, relaxing feeling to it. I was thinking of colors other than light blue, yellow, pink, or purple. Please give me all the suggestions that you might have;and if you have any pictures of comforters for a queen size bed, that would also be very helpful. Thanks!! :)

before god called me into ministry i wanted to study design.

its very easy you just have to tap into your creative side.

the design on the front page is very elegant and you can switch up some of the colors and add yellow if you'd like. it dosent look old but still mature and modern

you could even but clouds on you celing which is very relaxing to look at and get a low lighting and darks shades so you can open them in the day it will give you kinda that tranquill calm mood :D

on that page you can click the subpages i LOVE the polka dots and music notes if your into that kinda thing. you can even make your own pictures/art. try looking up some photography pics and put them in a picture frame or even try

look between things more thank likely stuff you want wont "jump" out at you you have to look very closely :D
some things you may find cheap or you may find kinda pricey.

in my room i always have a vase of fresh daisies (because i love them and we grow them) so try putting fresh flowers in your room. shelves for picture frames you can get at local craft store and paint them to match and even make a cute design on them. try watching some of those tlc tv shows where they decorate to piece together some ideas and keep a notebook of the things you like and where they were and how much even take a picture with a digital camera.

i love my room, and im always in there it may take a while to put everything together but in the end it will look AMAZING

good luck :D

Go to bed bath and beyond
It should have a spot for a bed.
My daughter is sixteen and we recently went through this .We purchased a chocolate colored comforter and added some turquoise throw pillows and khaki sheets. We purchased everything from walmart at a very reasonable price. It looks great!
lilac is very soothing. Behr.com has some really good decorations tips also.
I have done a beach type theme in my daughters room...it has a very relaxing feel to it...we have a blue paint on the walls with a tropical beach border on the wall, there is a net with some shells hanging at the head of her bed and some other random shells and such around the room...I used grass skirts to make curtains and she has a duvet and matching shams with hibiscus flowers. We used leis as ties for her curtains and sprayed a stone paint that is textured on a mirror frame to make the frame look like it is made out of sand. We also have an aquaruim in her room... Good luck to you!
I'm also remodeling my room and its taken me a while but I've chosen a deep indigo with white accents. Pastels are ok, but I much prefer the brighter colors! Also tans and browns are very neutral and tranquil and adding more contemporary pieces would make the room still feeling young and hip.

Try a relaxing resort island sort of feel, like beige and white. Simple furniture with a blue/white beach tropical feel and black/white photography is nice as well. You could try getting an Ethan Allen catalog (they have lots of themes there) as well.
