I'd like to decorate our bedroom in either an emerald or a forest green.?

Question:This seems to be a bit much so I'm thinking of using it as an accent color.

After years of saving up, we finally got a bedroom set! You can see it at: http://www.roomstore.com/common/product/...

I agree that painting the whole room emerald or forest green would be too dark with that furniture (which is great, by the way). It would be a great color for linens and drapes, though. The obvious colors to go with that would be burgandy and metallic gold or bronze. Perhaps a striped wallpaper with some combination of those on one or two walls?

If you like the color, do just an accent wall in one of them, or do opposing walls in one of them, that way it won't be so over powering. Match it up with a lighter green shade or a neutral color.
forest green would be very dark. The emerald would be dark too, but be a bit brighter which I'd think you'd want in a bedroom.- Nice furniture!
I think you are going to loose the beauty of the set in green...I liked the color that was in the picture,it might make a good accent color..
i agree w/ u that using those colors on the walls may b a bit 2 mch. The furniture is great..kinda moroccan or of the Resinance era so the colors in the pix r great but if u'r heart is really set on the dk gr... y don't u try this...

paint the bttm. wall either 1/4 or 1/2 way up. Either use a molding for chair rail & stain it to match u'r bdrm furnit. Then paint the top part in a warm tan or even lighter. U could even do a tone on tone w/ the color. It would give it that feel of those eras plus make it look rich. Then use accents of the bttm. color u choose.

Go to the paint store & get several samples of the same color that u like. Put them on the wall at home..bttm & top & look at them thru out the day or nt. C how they look in the diff. lights of day & nt. Then choose.

U can find how to do tone on tone either top or bttm. at http://www.hgtv.com

Have fun... I wish i could help. It will look great.
I think I have the perfect solution for your walls.

Your furniture is BEAUTIFUL and should be complimented!

Obviously, an emerald or forest green would be much to dark with the dark furniture, it would make your room heavy and dark.

So consider a faux finish on all of the walls. A single glaze application like this one (focus on the technique, not the colors in this sample). The colors in this sample are not the colors that I'm going to suggest.

As for what colors to use, I can help you with that too. Go to www. sherwinwilliams.com and launch the color visualizer, search these colors:

Ivoire. This would be the base coat for the application.
Garden Spot or Relentless Olive: For the glaze application.
