What sort of white paint do you use on woodwork if the walls are also white?

Question:Normally I would use eggshell but my concern is that the white of the walls will be whiter than the eggshell (which yellows after a bit anyway) - so would i be better to use the same emulsion paint on the woodwork as the walls?

Answers:
no , do not use emulsion on wood, ever.

paint is for wood and metal, plastics.(either gloss or matt finish)

emulsion for walls and ceiling, ie plaster etc..

the coat different materials and have totally different properties.

you can buy gloss or matt paint in any colour. B+Q mix it with Dulux paint.

Use white gloss. I have this, and it looks well.
emulsion paint is only for walls you need gloss paint for wood
No - emulsion will peel on woodwork, you need to use gloss. You can get a brilliant white non yellowing gloss from dulux, it costs a bit more but I've found that it does work!
dont use emulsion on woodwork, it will chip off as it is water based, just use non-drip gloss.
Actually, I would contrast the woodwork with the walls using texture rather than color. Use flat (dull finish) paint on the walls and semi-gloss or gloss white paint on the woodwork.

The difference in texture will make the room brilliant.

g-day!
Nothing looks better on woodwork than a brilliant white gloss. For a really good job undercoat it first with a good quality white undercoat. Time consuming but gives a long lasting finish.
Don't use emulsion on woodwork, it'll chip & peel & soon look tatty. Use a gloss.
I would go back to your original thinkings. I still believe eggshell is the best for woodwork , if your talking about
shelving & bookcases. Not over the top colour , & contrasts. But for door frames, bannisters etc, obviously white undercoat & brilliant white gloss.
use semi-gloss
depends what type of finished look you want really white gloss will stand out and finishes a job well, if u want 2 soend time a stain or varnish looks nice a dark one though, if not satinwood is a very popular choice amongst my customers at the moment
We're refurbishing a 1912 house with 10' ceilings. In 1 bedroom we've put flat white on the ceiling, semi-gloss in the same shade of white on the walls, and high gloss in the same shade of white on the woodwork. The floor is hardwood. Did it because the furnishings and accessories will be very colorful. It's fantastic, even before we've furnished it.
