Answers:
you need to buy ZIP IT anchor plugs. this is very important they have a thread on them and they can handle alot of weight.DO NOT USE REGULAR ANCHOR PLUGS!!! these come out very easy and do not have a good grip on sheetrock at all. a regular #10 flat head screw around 1 inch will work. then use mirror hooks that you can get from home depot about 3 bucks . if it will sit on the mantel just use 2 . it will be plenty with the zip its. with the zip its just screw your screw directly into the wall take it out and push a zip it threw the hole and screw it in using a drill or regular phillips screwdriver. it will work fine good luck. if you find the zip its charish them and use them everywhere they are best to hang everything
Very carefully.
if your mirror has a wooden frame put the 2 bits into it.if the mirror is very heavy get a chain attach it to the 2 bits drill a hole in your wall put a wall plug in the hole you have drilled you can get different wall plugs for different walls from your local diy shop.on the other hand you can get a joiner in to do it for you .it might be safer if its really heavy
