I have a cobalt blue tiled bathroom and want to change the decor. Any suggestions?

There are a few ideas:
In Mexico, I stayed at an inn in the country where the walls were whitewashed, and many things were painted in combos of bright cobalt blue, whites, reds, yellow. But each item was painted a solid color (for example, there was a mirror frame painted cobalt, something else was yellow or red, etc. It wasn't overdone with too many items.
For example, paint the walls clean white and then replace your soapdishes, and wastebasket and a plant pot in the bathroom to plain, unadorned terracotta and/or mix in brightly colored pottery pieces that are sort of in the mode and feel of fiestaware or other fired, bright colored items.
Idea #2 -
Look at flow blue/blue willow. Its cobalt and white. You can keep a very clean cobalt and white theme. or go a little farther and hang blue china with plate hangers on the walls.
Idea #3.
Delft blue. Paint the non tile white and paint cobalt blue vines and flowers on the boarder in dutch theme.
go with a nautical theme.you can use a contrasting color like red or yellow..with things like light house or boats to decorate.or you can always use the sea as a themse with shells to decorate.
You could go very modern and make it monochromatic. Multiple shades of blue using stripes or dots and maybe accent with some brushed chrome.
To lighten up the dark blue you could do everything in an oriental blue and white motif look at this vase for reference

You could also go country with cobalt and use yellow accents
here's a tray to reference the look

You could also go with toile

it is very heavy so make sure to use lots of white accents
I found this and it would be fun to run with this theme multi colored glass marbles it picks up the blue but then allows you to use any color in the rainbow to accent it.

The great thing about blue is it can go with almost any look, formal, country, modern you name it. Another suggestion is to go to your local bath store and look around they have vignettes set up of mock bathrooms that might inspire you.
Good luck and have fun!
