Teenage Girl Bedroom?

Question:I am a teenage girl and in a couple of weeks I am going to paint my room. I sort of have an idea of what colors I want but I just dont want one color, I want colors that go good together. Some of the colors I had in mind were

a light soft green/ light pink for the curtans
a light soft blue/ light yellow for the curtans

And my room is almost a perfect sqaure expect where the door is. Where the door is it is slanted. Its about medium sized, and I have only one window. And I have ugly light gray carpet.

But does anyone have any suggestions on color combos or any ideas that would look very orginal and cool.

Also if you have any websites that would be much apperciated!

you can use a virtual bedroom and try on lots of different paint combos on this website. Good Luck ..and Happy virtual painting
light pink or hot pink for the wall and silver or gold for the curtains?
that would be sooooo cute!
Why dont you make a theme and lets say..um... glittery and cute!!
try putting some posters and cute heart shaped things in your room!
good luck!
Lavender & light pink look nice together & those colors are easy on the eyes. You can buy one or two lavender throw rugs to offset the gray in the carpeting. Some pretty lace curtains would look really cute. Use a light pastel paint on your walls so it doesn't make your room seem small. You could paint one wall one color & the other three walls another color.
try the behr.com color smart interactive tool. this is how I picked out coordinating colors for my bedroom and got some ideas.

also check out your local home depot adn see if they have a decorating/painting class coming up
Either of those are nice color combinations. The light pink will be best on the walls. It'll look warm but not too warm and will be pleasing in all kinds of lighting conditions, while blue and green can look very cold in strong winter light, and yellow can be very strong and brassy in bright light.

Another thought: paint the walls white or ivory, and then you can use any colors you like for the curtains and on the bed, or have several sets and alternate them.
I think you might like your school colors on one wall, that way you can hang things from school this year, like any momento from there, tickets, An A paper! etc. Also hang up a cork board to remind yourself of things happening at school!

On another wall leave it white to show off your favorite posters, pictures, etc, or your own art work.

You can hang up your favorite blanket. My daughter hung up her little dogs blanket after it was run over and died.

She also got a package of glow in the dark stars, and put them all over on her ceiling. Wow! It looks like the galaxy at night. It is real cool! (she hung them up with that putty stuff teachers use) You only need a little for each. They would glow at night when she went to bed because she had the light on in her room for over an hour b/4 bed..

Do one wall in your favorite color!

Whatever you do, don't paint the room with markers. Daughter did, got in trouble, had to wash the wall, then prime it and paint it white...Grounded 2 weeks!

Good luck.
A hawaihain theme may fit the bill, take a look...
