How do I remove contact paper off wood panel walls?
Question:The crazy lady we bought our house from (house built in 1960) put contact paper on the kitchen walls (wood paneling) instead of wallpaper and it is NOT coming off! Anybody have any idea how to get it off? *I've used vinegar/water on it with a scraper- not working!

They sell Acetone in your local hardware you could maybe try that. It's the same thing that is in nail polish remover. Make sure you wear rubber gloves and ventilate well. Are all of the walls all the way to the ceiling and floor like that?( What a pain in the butt.) If it is the entire walls why not just prime them with a great bonding primer like BIN (oil based) and then paint over that? Of course if there are bubbles under the contact paper they would show. Thinking about the acetone again I don't know you might just end up with a gooey mess. I think I might just try to do the painting thing. It would look alot nicer than the contact paper. LOL
use nail polish remover or paint white paint over it
was her name Mrs. Larry Weeks? She did the same thing to my first house!! This is what I did- use a heat gun -low setting-or hair dryer on it- pull off, plaster will come off too, so you will have to patch- no big deal. After sanding, prime and paint.
