Duvet, how to I lay it out on the bed?

Question:I just purchased a duvet set and down comforter. I was wondering how everyone makes their bed? Do you put the buttoned or zippered end at the head or the foot of the bed? Is there a proper way to do it?

Answers:
Buttons or zipper are typically at the foot of the bed.

One tip I have found extremely useful over the years is to sew strips of ribbon (approx. 3 inches long) on the top inside corners of the duvet and on the comforter. This helps when putting the comforter in duvet.

Turn the duvet inside out and tie the top two corners to the comforter. Then turn the duvet back over the comforter and fluff. An added bonus is this keeps the comforter from shifting around in the duvet. Enjoy your new bedding!

I put the buttons at the foot of the bed just cause it looks better. If it looks good and you want it at the top then go for it.

I the only problem I had with my duvet is that sometimes you can see the comforter were their are no buttons. I don't think I bought a good duvet that fits my needs. The other down side is that my cats like to bit on the buttons.

Just be careful when you put it in the dryer. My kept bundling up in a big ball and it was hard to dry.

Good Luck and Enjoy.
