9 -year old girl - DO NOT go with pink! :) My hubby and I painted my daughter's bedroom pink and green. We painted the furniture too - it was adorable! Now she's 12 and decided she HATES pink! So we have to REPAINT EVERYTHING! ARGH! :)
Good luck! :)
I love stripes in bedrooms, especially for little girls. Pick a few colors from the comforter and do stripes. The toddler room is easy, any decoration (stickers, borders..) place low on the wall so the little guy can see them.
Depends on where you live you can go to Lowes or Home Depot to the painting session with your kids. They have these very nice pictures and ideas for kids rooms, and the little brochure will tell you the paint that you need and even the accesories. My suggestion is that you can go with your kids and have them select how would they like their bedrooms to looks like, and that way you're also teaching them that they can take some desicions and after that you have to live with the decision that you made. Even painting your kids room you're teaching them life lessons. Good Luck!
you know at that age i always wanted a theme room...all my friends had theme rooms...you know like sports or animals...im a boy so those make more since to me...but for a girl, i guess it would just be what she is in to.
also i saw something on tv a couple months ago that i thought was a good idea...a couple was renovating a play room for their two kids...and they got them involved by doing some finger painting along one of the walls...i seems tacky but it turned out real nice...just a thought! good luck
i would deside to not go with a theme for the little girls room because she is going to be a teenager soon and themes fade in and out but i agree with the one person above me no pink!
You can go to Better Homes & Gardens website. I think it's www.bhg.com. They have a section on decorating and you can even try different paint colors and arrange a room. Also, www.sherwin-williams.com. Click on homeowner and then click launch color visualizer. You can see how different paint colors will look.
for the boy paint the room a blue and have cars as a theme and this could be the border

and for the girl i would choose a candy shop themed room and paint it peach and have paintings of candy and jars of gumdrops and lollie pops
