i am clostifobic so painting the ceiling black would make the room smaller and the ceiling closer to me and i would not like it

I would!! Because then I could paint stars on the ceiling in glow in the dark paint. . and that would just be sweet. it'd make the room really really dark in the daytime, though. :(
I actually have a black ceiling in my bathroom. The border, which is also on the ceiling, has a black background. When I put it over the black paint it looks painted on the ceiling. Most people like it when they see it. Some think black is inappropriate. I love it!
