I have a 1970's bathroom.Yellow tile floor and lime green toilet and tub. What color curtains/rug can i use?

Question:Nothing looks good and I am getting frustrated. I have a tan one now...can anyone help?

Answers:
Try tangerine! Go with some really pop art, psychedelic accents (tie dye or geometric patterns - with lime green, yellow, orange, teal in). What's old is new, once again!

Or, you could try a deep purple kind of color. There is a cactus in Arizona that is primarily green, with purple and yellow blooms. It just depends on the color of the yellow. Then, I would go with lightly patterned flower accents.

try red or orange, then add accents with the color you choose like for towels and flowers.
If you paint the tub, you can't paint the toilet, and besides, the paint will only last a couple years. I tried it.
i would call a painter to see how much he would charge to paint the tub and toilet in a color that better suits you. its cheaper than remodeling. if that isnt an option, try sage green with yellow accents?? is it really lime green?? yuck!
White..I had a similar problem and white was the only thing that seemed to tone down and blend well.
I'm assuming there are valid reasons why you can't change your color scheme (budgetary constraints or you are a renter). That said, try white perhaps with a thin border or pattern of yellow and green to pull the scheme together. And some plants.
How about a nice crisp white? The yellow and lime green sound yucky but could be played up to create a nice crisp bright room. Maybe try to accent them instead of trying to cover them up which it sounds like you've been doing. Try to make everything possible in there a nice bright white...woodwork, towels, rugs, curtain, accessories, etc.
I would use brown curtain, brown goes with yellow & lemon green. And add couple of brown towls. It would tone down yellow and green.
I agree with Icy.. Use crisp white. Very retro looking. Good luck.
try a paisley lime, yellow, sky blue, lavender on a white backround. play up the color that you prefer.(towels, throw rugs, toothbrush holders, etc) you will get a fresh summer feeling!!!!!
I have a 50's bathroom; pink tub, pink and gray tile. The toilet was changed out and is white. The vanity was painted and we changed out the top.

I play it up. I have black and white striped wallpaper and the border is black and white w/pink purses. I have a white shower and keep it pulled to hide the pink tub. The window topper is white. I have used a lot of black and white accents in the bathroom and it looks great.
Try going with white for the curtains/shower curtains. Nice bright crisp white. Paint the walls a light creamy yellow. Accent with bits of the green and yellow. You can pull it together and make it look like you meant to do this. Decorate retro if you like.
I am guessing it is Avacodo Green which was very big in the 70's.
Or you could hide the yellow floor with a piece or carpet.
Don't get discouraged. You can make it look adorable! Good Luck!
P.S. Get rid of the tan! Make it pop with bits of red; soapdish, towels, etc.
We had a similar problem in an apartment my son rented. It had pink wall tile, mint green toilet and sink and they had refinished the bathtub lavender! We did a southwest theme. Beiges, tans, oranges, greens and maybe even the right shade of red! The shade that leans towards orange. Or go 60's with chocolate brown, teal, and the greens and yellows you have.
