What are your recommendations for high quality CHILDREN'S furniture at reasonable prices?
Question:I love the Pottery Barn look, but I question the quality of the merchandise. I am looking to buy new furniture for my 3 year-old daughter to last her through high school (and beyond!). Vermont Tubbs seems to make excellent quality furniture (solid wood, mortise-tenon construction, wood-on-wood glides), but the designs are a bit plain! Ethan Allen Kids is also nice, but the selection is limited. Any recommendations? I realize you don't get quality merchandise at Target prices, but I'd appreciate recommendations for sub-Pottery Barn prices. Thank you!

Have you tried Rooms to go Kids and Teen?
You can stop by an Odd Lots and see what they have. They don't always have sets or really good stuff, but sometimes they do and you will get an awesome deal. Besides that just do on-line shopping or try retail furniture stores such as Big Sandy.

I swear by Oak Express for long lasting furniture. They always have good discounts throughout the store.
How about Barewood Furniture or something like that. You can finish or paint to your heart's desire. They can even finish/paint for you. They usually carry oak and maple products and lots of children's furniture.
Ashley furniture has a great selection. They have a web site but do not have the complete line of furniture pictured on it. www.asleyfurniture.com ..it has a link to give you locations in your area. Some of their cheaper priced items are not great quality but even their higher priced good quality furniture is cheaper than Pottery Barn.

Go online to Northcarolinafurniture.com. Then put in children's furniture. My two grandsons have Lea Furniture and it is sturdy and beautiful. There are many lines of furniture for children and you have your choice. Find what you like and go to your local furniture dealer and he will order it for you. Also: behrsfurniture.com. They are a local furniture dealer in my area (NY) and their site shows beautiful furniture for kids. They have a fabulous selection. Check them out just to get an idea. They are middle to high end furniture for kids.
