Quick..!?
Question:give me some PROS and CONS of both glasses and contacts. thanx so much i have to submit a list to my mom and she gets to decide if i get contacts or stuck with stupid glasses
Answers:
I prefer my contacts over my glasses, so my pros list is long.
pro contacts:
don't slip or fall of if you're active
can see your eyes/makeup better
disposables allow you to have a brand new pair every so often so you don't have to worry as much about build-up, tears, losing them, or infections.
extended wear contacts allow you to sleep in them, so you can wake up & see!
can wear sunglasses
con contacts:
expense of storage solutions & cleaners
if you get something in you eye, it *hurts*
pro glasses:
they're easy - wake up, put on glasses
they look cool
con glasses:
the can break, bend, get lost, get scratched
you'd need a spare pair in case any of the above happens
can weigh heavily on your nose
get in the way while kissing & such
fall off if you play a sport or dance
Don't argue with your mom, just wait until you are old enough and buy your own contacts.
Regular glasses will not give you any eye infections, which can be very painful and damaging to your vision. This happened tome and it was touch and go as to whether I would have my sight back.
glasses... clean.. bend... slide down... lost... looking classy
contact... clean every day, bacteria, protein build-up, pop out, dust particles in eyes, cut contacts, no classy look from glasses... should not b worn around chemicals or pools.. deterates contacts... have to replace every 6mos..
does that help any? I'm all for contacts but working w/ them u really have to take care of them. Cleaning them EVERY day regardless of WHAT u;r friends say & staying away from pools etc.. anything that soft contacts can absorb, they do & they cuts the life span of the contact down.
Glasses.. can b a pain as well.. but I think the trend is moving more towards glasses b/c they r becoming so funky & awsome. I have bendable glasses... seriously. I can actually twist them & they go back( expensive) but if u sit on them.. or drop them.. no problem plus i have tint.
I have trouble w/ contacts due to allergies
good luck conviencing u'r mom... if u can have both.. do so b/c u eyes need a rest every now & then...
-glasses can be taken off easily (so if you're near sighted, you can take them off while going online whereas this can't be done so easily with contacts)
-Contacts can cause infections (and in worst cases blindness)
I wear glasses and LOVE them. Find a pair you like :)
pros contacts- see more (glasses only allow you to see a certain area through them. The rims of the glasses get in the way)
Make your list persuasive enough to get what you want
You need to talk to your mom and find out WHY she doesn't want you to have contacts. Maybe she can't afford it and doesn't want to tell you that. Maybe you have a history of being irresponsible and she's afraid you will always lose them. You'll have to deal with these issues separate from the glasses v. contacts thing.
You don't say how old you are, but you're surely old enough to handle your contacts properly and follow care instructions. (A thought, there was a recall on one brand of contact care a while back that did cause some serious problems. Maybe she's thinking of that. Even so, chances of something like that are pretty small. I was using that brand and never had problems.)
If you are active contacts would avoid breaking/scratching glasses. You can wear sunglasses instead of messing with those clip-on things. They don't get smeared or rained on.
I got contacts when I was 13 (not sure how old you are) and was very responsible with cleaning them and wearing them properly. The pros in my opinion are: Great peripheral vision, comfortable, can wear them almost anywear (sports, on a roller coaster).
Cons of contacts: take a while to get used to (so do glasses), takes time to clean and put in eyes, if you swim, can't wear contacts underwater if you open your eyes--I had mine wash out during white water rafting once!
Pros of glasses: Compared to contacts, I don't see any pros to wearing glasses. Not for me anyway.
Cons of glasses: get headaches at first, can't see peripherally (if you look to one side without turning your head, you are not looking through the glasses, can get broken easily, can lose them, frames go out of style long before you need a new prescription, fog up in certain weather.
1) This is under decoration and remodeling why?
2) Glasses are slowly going out of style.
3) Their easier to forget.
4) Contacts aren't noticable.
5) And you want them, it will make you happy
