Im moving into a one bedroom apt with my daughter.?

Question:I plan to give her the bedroom. What are some creative ways to make the livingroom/diningroom area function as a small second bedroom and living room area?

Answers:
put up a curtain, if you are able to! and get a sofa-bed so you can use it as a couch during the daytime. Also, make sure there is enough seating so that she wont have to feel like she has to sit on your bed to eat or watch tv. This is the situation me and my mom are in, and I always feel guilty eating on the couch because its like I'm eating in her bed, but other than that its okay!

I agree use multiple function furniture. Futons, daybeds, fold out furniture, sofa beds, sofa tables that become desks, entertainment centers with fold down cubbies to become desks or tables, will serve to expand the versatility of how you live without making it room specific. The more function a piece of furniture can serve, the less you will feel cramped by your space. They even have coffee tables that convert to dining tables simply by pulling the table on flexible hinges up to dining height. Just choose your pieces to maximize their use. Also, look up for storage. Most people fail to use the space all of the way to the ceiling and since it is basically out of the traffic pattern of the floor, it is the best place to store things which would be clutter at lower levels.
