I didn't know most white cabinets were laminate. :-O?

Question:...so when I went to Lowe's today with dreams of my white kitchen, I was a bit shocked.
So, does it matter now if I buy the white cabinets from Lowe's or Ikea.they are all laminate anyway?
I have asked several people here about Ikea cabinets, with good and negative responses. So, this is the final question about them. :D

The cheap white cabinets are laminate with a base wood (cheap wood) underneath. This helps on the cost. However, even the cheap "wood" cabinets with the grains and everything are laminate also. You can buy cabinets that are stained white, white washed, or painted white for a far greater price.

For the price, I think that the laminate looks nice.
