When you buy a bedroom set from Macy's, do they include the mattress?

I am interested in purchasing a bedroom set from Macy's but was informed by a friend that Macy's gives u the mattress when u purchase the bedroom set. Is that true?

No - they sell mattresses separately, so they don't include with a bedroom set.
One way to find out. Pick up the phone & call them. That's a great deal if they do.

18 months ago when my husband and I were looking to purchase a new bedroom set we did look in Macy's and at that time they did not throw in the mattress. And Im going to assume IF they did it wouldnt be a pillow top or high quailty matress you'd want to keep for a long time anyway
ask them to throw it in.
