How much does it cost to fit an avreage sized kitchen in a one bedroom flat excluding vat?
Question:I have been give a quote of £700 to fit a new kitchen. Do you think this is reasonable especially since most of it is just putting flat pack together?

This question has gone four days without an answer. I'm guessing that the reason is because you posted it on FindHomeAnswerss - USA. I'm also guessing that you are in the UK since you mention VAT, the monetary valuation is in english pounds, you refer to a one bedroom "flat", and the cabinets are knock down modular units common in Europe.
Assuning that you are in the UK, other factors come into play. Labor costs are likely to be much higher in most of London than in a small village in the hinterlands and you make no mention of general location. The actual size of the kitchen and number of cabinets is also crucial to determining price. Even though it is a one bedroom flat, the kitchen could be almost any size. "Average" doesn't give one much to go on. In addition, you are not specific as to wether or not the price includes the cabinets themselves, or just the labor to put them together and fit them to the room.
I can tell you that, even considering the currency exchange rate, the amount of money you specify wouldn't cover labor on even a small kitchen in the USA, much less include the cost of the cabinets, counter tops, etc..
In the end, you might want to rethink, rewrite, and repost your question in the appropriate country. I'm sure you will get several useful responses if you choose to do so.
Good luck with your kitchen project.
