Home Depot and Loews have really increased their lighting choices and quality and for reasonable prices. For basics, places like Target and Linens n Things where you can mix and match your bases and shades are very low priced as well.

If you are in the US, the Salvation Army stores and outlets often have fun, funky lamps for dirt cheap.if you don't like the shades you can always pick up new ones at Target or WalMart or wherever..
