Who invented carpet?

Question:

Answers:
Modern, large machine-made carpets (as opposed to smaller rugs) were basically created around 1900 using a process called 'tufting'. It really took hold in the 50's. The automated machines that do this tufting were invented in Dalton, GA - which is why carpet manufacturing is still centered there to this day

i assume it evolved from rugs?
Carpet was invented by Emilio Carpetaro in Italy in 1821. Before that people just threw food on the floor when their feet were cold.
Wow! That goes back to the cave man days. Animal furs were used for warm covering and I suppose one fell on the cave floor and when stepped on it felt good to the bare feet.
