What can one do with an old crib bumper that is just too cute to get rid of?
Question:I love my daughter's crib bumper. It fits the theme of her surfer girl room just perfectly. In fact, it's a pretty important part of the "look of her room. What can I do with it now that she doesn't need it anymore?
Answers:
use it as a wall border.. if you take the batting out and seperate the two pieces you will have a longer border...
Maybe you could make a wall hanging or a quilt, incorporating the bumper in it.
could you make pillows w/ the cutest parts? (just sew seams on the sides and add extra stuffing to fluff it up...)
See if you can easily use a seam ripper to take out the batting. Then you could use the material to make a couple of throw pillows for the bed.
Love the pillow idea! You could also use part of it to be the background of a shadow box and add a couple of her other baby items that she doesn't use anymore or her hospital pictures, tags, birth announcement - that type of thing.
Can you add a trim to the window treatments? Cut a strip and sew or use fabric glue to cover the hem line of the bottom. Or use a strip to embellish the leading edge of the window treatment. Can you use the fabric to make a stuffed animal or a small pillow? Maybe you can quilt the fabric and frame it or use it to frame out a small mirror or make a frame to add her picture. You can cover a small foot stool or a chair seat. Make some stuffed geometric shapes and place them on a shelf. Use it as an edge on her blanket or line the edge of a wastebasket. You could also make a headband for her. Can you make a band for a lamp shade?
