Is there anything I can put down where my newly installed carpet and tile meet?? Not to step on nails of carp

It sound like were the carpet meets the tile was purposely installed without a threshold. This is the cleanest look. The problem is with the tack strip at the edge of the tile it is either 1" or 1-1/4" wide and in order for a threshold to work it would have to be 2" wide. This will probably not look good. The only other option is to call the carpet installer back have him remove the tack strip and put in a very small threshold. Just keep in mind that the carpet will be loose at that edge and may buckle over time and need to be re-stretched.

There are many thresholds, carpet stops and transitions available at home centers.
Go to carpet store or Home Depot and get a threshold.
Why didn't the carpet installer do this? Normally, it's part of the job.
did you install your carpet yourself? If so, good for you, it's great to learn new skills for sure, if not, shame on your installer for not completing the job. You need to go to Home Depot, or other hardware, home store, and go through the many available styles of threshholds, they are very easy to install. Good luck, and peace!
You can buy metal and wood stripes at your hardware store that are just for this reason.Ask them to help you find them.Good luck
You can buy floor transition pieces at the hardware store. Measure your opening first and most stores will cut it to fit your opening. These are nailed or screwed down. Good luck!
What I would do is measure the place you are wanting to cover and then i would have a threshold mad eout of wood. I had this done in my last home and it was wonderful. Stain it the color of the wood closest to it. i.e. cabinets, stairs, bookshelves. Trust me this will look better than any threshold in home depot. It takes a lil more work but well worth it. You will be very happy with the outcome. Some on mentioned taking out the tack strip...not a good idea. Will cause you more trouble than you think.

Good luck
Any home improvement shop will carry transition pieces...The installer is not responsible for this. I recently had carpet intstalled up to carpet. I was told before installation that they were not responsible for it. I had the transition piece though and gave the installer a few bucks to take care of it. It didn't look to hard so you should be ok if you are the least bit handy.
Hello. I own a carpet cleaning, carpet repair, flood remediation company in the North Texas area and am IICRC certified in carpet repair. First, I am assuming that when you say you have tile that the surface of the tile is about higher than the actual foundation. In other words, the tile is 'floating' on a thin bed of adhesive and there is a definite edge to the tile due to the width of the tile itself and the thin layer of adhesive underneath. Normally, a carpet installer will install tack strip (long thin boards with nails sticking up that 'grab' the carpet and hold it in place and are underneath the carpet) parallel to the tile's edge and offset from the tiles edge about the height of the carpet. In other words, a 'channel' is created so that the carpet can be stretched over the tack strip and then the edge of the carpet can be tucked into the channel adjacent to the tile. When this is done correctly then the carpet to tile transition is perfect--the carpet magically stays in place. The transition goes directly from carpet to tile with no visible transition. A visible transition is necessary when you have to go from carpet to a completely flat surface such as vinyl tile...there is no where to tuck the edge of the carpet. By the way, if the nails from the tack strip are sticking your feet when you walk on it (a common problem) then simply take a hammer and set the head on the tack strip (the hammer is on top of the carpet) and pull it across the transition while pressing down very firmly. This will 'bend' the nails down underneath the carpet and not affect its ability to hold the carpet (don't swing the hammer and hit the tack strip or you could split it and affect its ability to hold the carpet).
