I agree with the other answers. True travertine is a natural stone and can be sealed but I would never paint it. The real question is why would you want to?
Travertine is beautiful. Perhaps you could do sometime to the room to make it look better with the travertine.
Put your paint on the walls not the travertine.
Why would you want to paint such a beautiful product? Can you clean and polish it up?
Is it true travertine tile? I would higly discourage someone from painting travertine, that's one of the most expensive materials out there. However, I wouldnt use travertine as a kitchen countertop.
i agree, why would you? but if you must sand it to rough it up and use oil primer and latex elastomeric paint, 2 coats.
