Why do painters wear white?

Question:

Answers:
BECAUSE EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD ON WHITE.

because they paint most things white. They can bleach their clothes and get most the paint off too.
hmm dunno ^_^
Maybe to give their eyes a place to rest.
Having been a professional painter for several years I can tell you as a matter of fact it is simply tradition. It many have started back when whitewash wash popular but that is no longer a reason.
I always thought it was so that it was easier to notice when there was wet paint on them and they could wipe it off before they got in on anything else.

When I paint and wear a darker t-shirt, I end up with paint all over the place with out realizing it.
Traditionally, most paint used by house painters was some shade of white. The wearing of white is simply because it does not contrast and show up the paint drops and splatters that are part of the days work. Blue Jean painters look pretty sloppy after a few days of painting, and less likely to be hired.
Because even just a little paint shows up on them so much that they fool everyone into thinking that they've been really working hard that day.
