What is the best way to paint metal cabinets in my kitchen?

Question:

Answers:
Lightly sand the cabinet after youve taken the handles off, use an oil base paint that has a soft gloss, high gloss looks tacky. I wouldnt spray though, buy a small 4 inch roller with a tray and a throw away brush, lightly roll on paint. Not to heavy or it will run. If it needs a second coat wait at least 8 hours between coats. Cover the counter and the floor with drop cloths, this paint does not clean up well...

sand, prime and professional spray. Use oil based paint- it is more durable.
Clean them up, sand and wipe...then use a sprayer if you aren't going to do patterns (like rag or sponging). A sprayer is easier and looks more uniform than rollers or brushes.
Don't forget to prime them first, and for a gloss finish add a clear acrylic top coat.
Rough them up with a fine grit sandpaper. Also buy paint specified for metal. Rustoleum make great paint and it stick nice and has a nice finish
spray paint
