1940's bedroom?

Question:Im redecorating my bedroom ... im looking to redo it 1940's ... any stores in MICH that sell 40's stuff cheap? like the colors are green and black

salvage yards, antiques stores, antique auctions, and some thirift stores are a good place to look for the authentic stuff. specific items to look for are chandaliers and mirrored funriture you can make the latter yourself...just go with ornate wallpaper and a lot of glamour

I wouldn't do a complete throwback thing but, try some of the fabrics and accessories at Cath Kidston...they have a distinctly retro feel to them...some of the Kate Spade homethings have a decidely 40's vibe to them...Sears sometimes has Chenille bedspreads and cushions...very 40's feeling...

try to find some 40's home magazines at flea markets or buy online...they are the best source of all things 40's...
