What Design/Painting Looks best for a Girl Teens Room?
Question:I want a new look for my room and I don't know what design or color to use. My friend did polka dots, so I cant steal her Idea or she would be mad. I don't know what to do!! I'm not really into the bright colors... I like them, just not on my walls. sooo any thing would help!! Thanks in advance sooo much!! I only have a little bit of time to do this, so thanks! BTW: I have Creme colored carpet, and white wood furniture. sooo yeah. thanks!

This is a bathroom but its the idea. You could just do it on your bed wall, and have the other 3 walls solid, using a color from the harlequin pattern.
Do a black and white theme. I wouldn't paint all the walls black though. If you wanted a wall to contrast then paint just one of them black and leave hte rest white.
From there you have a couple choices since you do actually like colors. You can get colored frames (Ikea has a good selection) to put black and white photos in, or get sleek black frames to put colored photos in. I would stick with mostly 8x10 photos so they will stand out. On the black wall you can do white frames with colored photos or colored frames with black and white photos or you could do light boxes so the photos are back lit.
For curtains I would look around and try to get ones that are black and white patterned. You may even want to go with shower curtains since there is a pretty big variety there.
For the floor, if you are crafty you can get black and white bathroom carpets and sew them together in a checked pattern.
For your bed, you can do something similar, either go with a black and white pattern for the comforter or just plain black. I don't recommend white because it gets dirty to easy!
For ofther decorations around the room, try to get some iron work figurines or wall decor. There are usually some at Ross or Marshalls or Cost Plus World Market that will enhance the black and white theme.
Alternatively you can do a bright color with black. Think yellow and black, pink and black, blue and black or green adn black. Or all those colors and black! This way you would not be so limited by just black and white and could have all your favorite colors in there too. I would use the colors as decoration or as extras and keep black as the primary color there. For example, go with a black comforter for the bed, but have colorful little pillows to decorate. Also look around for photos or artwork that is primarly black and white, but has a bit of a single color in it for emphasis. For the DIY rug idea use other colors instead of white, but keep all the black there.
Depending on how you do this the room can end up looking very grown up and mature or a fun hangout. It all depends on what you want. Good luck!
